We adopted our foster daughter, who is three years old. We used this puppy and its adoption papers, signed by the judge to show what an adoption looks like. She had a choice of keeping her name or changing it. She kept Rosie. Obviously we could not change the birthdate, which is perfectly fine because you can’t change a child’s birthdate either. She was able to put her new name on the paper, and the judge also put her name and signature on the adoption certificate. See attached photo.

My client, Mr Smith, received this dog yesterday. He immediately looked at it and after hearing that the dog's name was Bonnie frowned and started talking to the dog and decided that the dog's name would be better suited as Duke. Mr Smith has a serious illness and had to give up his dog a few weeks ago. He was immediately impacted by this and seemed even more lost. Now he is much more alert and always smiling and holding on to his new companion.
