Opening Ceremony
Seeing one of our Toy Soldiers perform the official opening ceremony is the perfect way to kick off a day in the city! Big kids and small kids are always welcome to join us at the Plaza at Rockefeller Center each morning to see our store come to life.

Please note during inclement weather, our Toy Soldiers will not perform the opening ceremony to allow them to take care of the toys inside the store.
Jellycat Diner
Get the authentic New York experience and grab a city favorite at the Jellycat Diner, exclusively at FAO Schwarz. With a menu full of delectable dishes, we have something for everyone! You can have breakfast, featuring our fan favorite Amuseables Pancakes and Amuseables Waffle, or you can grab lunch, featuring our classic Amuseables Burger and Amuseables Hot Dog.
And because we all deserve a sweet treat now and again, our EXCLUSIVE new dessert menu features our Amuseables Bubbeca Milkshake and Amuseables Crember Cheesecake.
Your to-go order is lovingly prepared by our diner chefs and is served in your very own personalized packaging. Each experience includes a Jellycat Amuseables plush food item, exclusive enamel pin, exclusive sticker sheet, gift packaging, personalized sticker, and reusable tote bag. Order up! As of October 15, 2025, you no longer need a reservation to purchase sides, and these are available off-menu outside of the diner.

Beauty Experience
At the FAO-Abulous Boutique, young glamouristas are invited to create their own dream makeup collection. You can make it yours by choosing from a wide selection of eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks, lip glosses, and nail polishes.
Your custom kit is then tucked into our signature FAO Boutique carrying case with additional makeup accessories designed to inspire even more beauty moments at home. Each case comes with a personalized faux leather heart charm embossed with your initials.
For those seeking their moment in the spotlight, the Deluxe Beauty Experience offers a glamourous upgrade. As well as creating your customized kit, enjoy a mini in-store makeover and makeup tutorial with one of our FAO-Abulous Makeup Artists. Glamour awaits at the FAO-Abulous Boutique! For the Deluxe Beauty Experience, bookings are recommended, but not required, as we do accept walk-ins on a first come, first served basis.

Handbag Experience
Handbags are the ultimate accessory, and at the Fao-Abulous Boutique, you can create your very own custom handbag with over 2,000 possible combinations.
Each experience comes with your choice of handbag, strap, scarves, fobs and add on accessories, as well as a personalized faux leather heart charm embossed with your initials . All of this comes lovingly packed in an exclusive FAO-Abulous dust bag.
$70 per experience. Add-on accessories available for evenmore customization on the go. Suitable for ages 6+.

Mix-Mart
Slime Charmers is the newest addition to Crazy Aaron’s at FAO Schwarz NYC. Customize your own slime using color, scent, charms and sensory mix-ins with the help of one of our crazy confectioners. You will be instrumental in making your own slime as you will pump the glue base and hand-mix the components to form your own unique compound.
Also, get inventive and create your own Thinking Putty at the Mix-Mart. Pick your color, special effects, and sprinkles, then watch your creation come together in the Crazy Creator putty mixer. Thinking Putty is silicone-based and non-toxic, with a specific design that prevents it from drying out.

Custom Jewelry Experience
Calling all crafters, fashionistas and stylists! Head to the BaubleBar Jewelry Shop to create a custom bracelet or necklace made exclusively for you. Browse available style options and then head to our interactive machine to select up to 9 custom characters to be added to your bracelet or necklace. Next, one of our BaubleBar Designers will help you prepare your final creation. Don’t forget to browse our best-selling jewelry and accessories to complete your look.
Each experience includes one of 7 available bracelet options and up to 9 letter and character add ons, complete with a BaubleBar pouch to take your creation home in.

My FAO Doll
Experience the joy of welcoming a new FAO baby doll into your family! We will help you choose the newest addition to your household and ask the all-important questions to make sure each baby will be loved and cared for. See how to swaddle them in the right way to make them feel cozy and safe, and at the end of it all, sign your official certificate before taking your baby doll home.
$130 per baby doll, including your choice of swaddle. Suitable for ages 6+.
Personalized Teddy Bear Experience
For the first time in our 144-year history, you will have the chance to customize a Steiff Teddy Bear with an exclusive FAO Schwarz ear tag, adding a personal touch to a cherished classic! Known as the inventor of the Teddy Bear and for their highly recognizable yellow ear tag, you can now make this German classic your own.
Choose from our most beloved bears: Ben, Honey or Jimmy and then personalize the ear tag with the name of a special someone or maybe even yourself! You will BEARly believe your eyes as you behold one of our Steiff Specialists secure the ear tags with our Steiff signature button. After your Teddy bear passes inspection they are lovingly wrapped in Steiff branded tissue and carefully packed in an exclusive gift box. If you don’t have a Steiff, you don’t have a Teddy Bear!

Personalization Station
Embark on a unique adventure at the BRIO Personalization Station exclusively in store at FAO Schwarz!
Explore the BRIO railway with a variety of themes, sets, and vehicles. Stop by the ticket counter for your personalized BRIO letter train and luggage, then snap a photo with our friendly conductors. You can also upload your own photo and add a fun filter before customizing your train ticket and luggage tag with a special message.
Each experience includes a BRIO letter train, exclusive luggage gift box, and personalized ticket and luggage tag. All aboard!
Trains start at $50 for 5 carriages. Each additional carriage is $7, up to a possible total of 15.

Build your own Freddy Funko or Monster Pop! figure at the Pop! Factory in FAO Schwarz. Pick out the perfect head and torso from our selection before adding in some amazing accessories to truly customize your Pop! The possibilities are endless!

Dance on Piano
Show off those twinkle toes on the iconic Dance on Piano overlooking the plaza at Rockefeller Center. No matter what your musical talent, we encourage you to fully believe in your skills and deliver the performance of a lifetime.
To keep our piano clean and sparkly, we ask that before playing your tune, you take your shoes off and keep your socks on. Please note that the Piano area is closed during private events and may be unavailable to dance on.
